The Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer was a carrier based and shore based attack aircraft for the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy. The Buccaneer first flew on June 5, 1964, and entered service with the fleet air arm shortly afterward. The Buccaneer was seen as a nice alternative to the F-4 Phantom because it was faster and more fuel-efficient when carrying the same bombload. The plane was in service until 1994.
