When I was six years old, I was playing in the backyard when an acorn dropped out of a tree and hit me in the head. I cracked it open and took a look at it, and the indentation left by the hollow seed core made a perfect heart shape in the middle of the acorn. It was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. I vowed (yes, at six!) that I'd give it to the girl I wanted to marry when I proposed and explain just how much the acorn meant to me. I forgot about it for years, but I just found it in an old cabinet when I was clearing some things out. It still looks just as beautiful as the day I found it, and I nearly broke down crying.

I've started carrying it with me wherever I go, just in case...
