An odd US variety show that first ran on CBS, then was syndicated for 20 years (after The Country Purge), then ended up on the Nashville Network. Set in rural "Cornfield County" (or Kornfield Kounty), it was produced by Torontonians - the cast even included Canadians Don "Charlie Farquharson" Harron and Gordie Tapp amidst its south-of-the-border regulars. Formula: country music, cornball "humor", and hooters (it may have inspired the restaurant chain). The band BR-549 takes its name from one of the show's regular bits; that one featured Junior Samples, whose never-acted-before charm made him a viewer favorite. Hosts: Buck Owens and Roy Clark.
