Credible, independant music label that is behind most of the real, honest-to-goodness,politically active punk bands that are around today, the most famous being Rancid. Hellcat doesn't care about the money nearly as much as it does the music. In fact, you can go right to their website and find links to download most of their albums for free. If you actually go out and buy something they put out, there's a good chance the liner notes of the CD will read something along the lines of, "Unauthorized Duplication is Encouraged." A branch of Epitaph Records.

Hellcat is responsible for the Give 'em the Boot series of punk/ska compilations, and is also behind the following bands:
Choking Victim
Dave Hillyard
Dropkick Murphys
F-Minus
The Gadjits
Hepcat
Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros

Leftover Crack (until recently; Leftover Crack officially left the Hellcat label in October 2002, but will continue to work with them for future projects, including the new Give 'em the Book compilation)
