Robert W. Funk. Though he is an expert in the
historical Jesus, his book has the
merit of offering an
intellectually
credible approach to thinking about the
message rather than the
messenger.
Of course, his notions of the ethical teachings of Jesus are highly debatable, but the emphasis is off the theological significance of Jesus' death and on issues that are subject to examination.
