"Make a plan."
The joke above was in Noah Baumbach's funny and quirky, yet depressingly true
film Kicking and Screaming (1995). The film was about four recent college
graduates who are unable to leave their small college town and move on with their lives.
But regardless of the whole film, I found the joke to ring true. I'm in college, and I often ask, what
the hell am I going to do with my life? It seems that life is just fate, a series of
chances that none of us can control.
What if I'm not in the right place at the right time? That scares the hell out of
me. So all I am left with is the ability to make a plan, and have God laugh at me, as I
try to control something that I cannot.
