The origin of Krusty's Simpsons line may be Art Linkletter's blurb on the box of The Game of Life, a very popular board game in its day. I presume the endorsement goes back to the early 1960s, when Linkletter was a popular television personality in North America. There was, on the box, a photo of a beaming Linkletter, with the caption, "I heartily endorse this product", and an aura of I-phoned-this-blurb-in. I wonder if it's still there on current boxes, or if it was replaced by one from Dr. Laura, or some such popular unimpeachable public figure.
