Around Soho, which is the center of the London sex industry, the inside of every public telephone box is covered with cards advertising the services of prostitutes. The cards are very professionally produced, usually consisting of a very glamorous photograph of a naked or semi-naked woman (which is almost certainly just a photo stolen from a porn magazine with relatively high production values, such as Penthouse), plus a line of typeset text and a telephone number. The text typically says such things as, "Satisfaction Guaranteed", "Discipline Required", "Ready And Willing". You get the idea.
So when, alongside all the others, I spotted a card with no photo, consisting of just a line of handwritten text and a phone number, it really stood out. And when I read the message, I have to admit I was impressed. It said simply:
"I like my job."
