IOC country codes

These are the three-letter country codes dreamed up by the International Olympic Committee and also used widely by other international sporting bodies and events, not least for captions on your TV screens. Why they don't use the ISO ones, who knows, but here they are in case you need them. Note that the versions of country names used by the IOC reflect an attempt to juggle a variety of geopolitical issues without offending people, hence the appearance of the FYROM, Chinese Taipei and Great Britain rather than Macedonia, Taiwan and the United Kingdom:
