I assume you all know the story of how Odin traded one of his eyes for a drink from the Well of Wisdom. Well, according to The Mad Bard, that's where the old saying comes from:

Don't run around the pool deck with scissors in your hand less than thirty minutes after eating, because it's all fun and games until someone loses an eye.
