I could feel her perfume
lingering in the room
although it must have been
over two minutes
since she passed my eyes.

The smoke from thousands
of cigarettes burning
my nostrils
I followed blindly
in her footsteps
led by the scent
of all women gathering
in their secret places.

In the hallway talking
to another woman I could once again
smell her perfume mixed up with her
husky sweat. I glide closer.

As she opens her mouth
the stench of alcohol
food
and cigarettes
almost knocks me out.

But when our
lips meet
I know
I'm home.
