On my television I can see anything from cartoons, finance, or World War II.
It's all very nice, having this choice, a couple of hundred channels all sitting there and saying,
"Watch me, buy me, adore me" in unison.

Which is all well and good, but what if:
we preferred our TV with only four channels
that stopped broadcasting when you'd gone to bed
and when 16-bit video games were what the richer kids owned?

iTunes is nice, but technology can stop you
from doing all the things in life you'd like to.
I remember when my music came in physical packages that you'd sit and stare at for hours.
(and some of us still do)

The trees outside my house seemed brighter then,
And even though the hole in the ozone layer was ever-growing
It felt like nature was omnipresent, unchanging and all around us and would be forever
as if it were real.

We were young and innocent and free.
Orwell was just a set of letters that didn't mean a thing
hell, we had Conservatism, but that was just a word for "other people" when you were 6-years-old
And a part of me deeply wishes I were, again.
