At the age of 13, Joe Nemechek began racing motocross and would go on to win 300 trophies in six years and in 1986 he would make the transition to stock cars. This transition would prove easy as he would go on to post victories in every series he raced while moving up to the majors. Some achievements include All-Pro Late Model Rookie of the Year (1989), Nascar Busch Series Rookie of the Year (1990), Busch Series Championship (1992) and Most Popular Driver (1992-1993). 1

In 1994, Nemechek made the jump to Nascar Winston Cup. Since starting, he has won 2 races including his win at New Hampshire International Speedway in 1999 and the other win at North Carolina Motor Speedway He is currently driving for Hendrick Motorsports in the number 25, UAW/Delphi Cheverolet Monte Carlo.

Along with driving in the Winston Cup, Nemechek still drives in the Busch series with the family owned, NEMCO, Celluar One. In the 2001 series, he posted two victories, including the season finale at Homestead Miami Speedway. There are high hopes for him in the Busch series as the 2002 schedule is his 14th year.
