Curious little sentence found in the space between the cardboard center and the music grooves on the
vinyl version of
Dead Kennedys' album
Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables. (At least on the
Cherry Red Records version; I don't know about the
Alternative Tentacles or
I.R.S. versions, since I don't have those.)
For those who don't know, John Scopes was the Tennessee teacher arrested and put on trial for teaching evolution in the 1920s. (See also Scopes Monkey Trial, Inherit the Wind.)
BTW--Kansas has recently overturned their law against teaching evolution, but Arkansas is trying to outlaw the teaching. WTF?
