Better known as the Leather Man Bourglay lived in the US during the late 1800s but was born in France. He lived much of his life as a travelling hermit in the Eastern US. His 30 day, 365 mile circuit walking from town to town etched him a position in regional folklore and a part in the collective subconscious of hundreds of small New England towns.
