The period 190-135 million years ago. Named for the Jura mountains. This era is fodder for Jurassic Park, etc. A National Enquirer from the era would read:

Giant dinosaurs stalk the Earth!
Gondwanaland ripped apart!
Elvis sighted in 7-11!
