Kathryn Williams is an acoustic singer/songwriter from Newcastle, UK. She made her album debut with Dog Leap Stairs, released to much critical approval in 1999, and followed this up by guesting on a CD with John Martyn before releasing her second album, Little Black Numbers, in June 2000 on her own Caw label, which got her shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize in 2000. She has a kind of Cowboy Junkies voice, light and somehow comforting.
