Katie Holmes was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. She is the youngest of five children. She is best known for her starring role as the shrug-a-riffic Joey Potter on the WB series Dawson's Creek. Current research (August, 2001) states Holmes is dating American Pie star Chris Klein.

Her salary for Dawson's Creek (as reported on IMDB) is $30,000 per episode.

My own personal opinion of Holmes is that she has a good deal of talent, and could go far, if she can manage to not get horribly type cast for the rest of her career.
