Kina Lillet was the original name for an apéritif made by Lillet in France. Based on wine, and not a vermouth (not obvious since its most famous mention is in James Bond's martini in Casino Royale, the Kina in the name is a reference to the kina-kina or quinquina tree, from which quinine is derived.
Considerably less bitter these days, Lillet is still available, in both red and white forms.
Lithographs of old ad posters are popular among collectors, along with Cinzano and Campari.
