Literally "children country sending". German name for the government program in
World War II that aimed to evacuate children from cities to rurual areas to protect them from
air raids on the cities. This became necessary as allied bombers attacked cities with the express aim of killing civilians to demoralize the population.
Very similar programs for exactly the same reasons were conducted in England and Japan.
