"King Size" is a marketing term for things sold today at the size they used to be sold at in the old days before their makers began skimping, cutting away a little bit here and a little bit there, until what was no longer feels as if it fills the need it used to. And there, the makers see an opportunity to sell a bigger version -- a pre-diminution version -- at a jacked-up price. And, to justify that price, with a royally inflated appellation.
