A silly, cheesy phrase usually stamped on a black pork pie hat bought at the great British seaside, along with a stick of rock (with the name of your seaside location written all the way through it in pink candy) a miniature bucket and spade, for making sandcastles, and a shiny, hand-held plastic windmill.
Bamforths popularised the tradition of the nudge-nudge-wink-wink British seaside greeting in the 30s, with their series of saucy seaside postcards, often depicting a fat bald man with red cheeks and a lady with oversized udders. They have just ceased trading: the cards are seen as tacky and sexist now, and are not selling. But they do have a certain kitsch appeal.
