1. Kvaløy(a)

Norwegian island, 737 km2, located in Northern Norway, near Tromsø. Kvaløy has a strong relief, with several sharp peaks rising over 1000 m. The eastern side of the island is a flat plain, Kvaløysletta, which is a suburb of Tromsø (connected via a bridge traversing the island of Tromsøya).


2. Kvaløya

Norwegian island, 336 km2, located in Northern Norway in Finnmark fylke. Site of the town of Hammerfest (population 9,166 as of January 1, 2001). Largely uninhabited, apart from the town and some scattered houses along the coast road. Connected via bridge (across Kvalsundet) to the mainland.
