An ale of exceptional quality, brewed in Canada by a company called Unibroue (http://www.unibroue.com/). La Maudite has an alcohol content of 8%, a deep orangish-red color, and a moderate bitterness. It gains its higher alcohol content from Unibroue's refermentation process. It has been brewed since 1992.

It's name means The Damned in French, which must refer to those lost souls who have yet to try this fine fermented treat. Anecdotally, every person I have known to try this ale has loved it. Across the board, people seem to seriously enjoy this ale, everyone from the Guinness purists to the MGD swill drinkers. These are empirical results from having introduced this ale to 20 or so beer drinkers. La Maudite comes highly recommended.
