A device invented to ensure uniform slicing when converting potatoes into french fries. Mr. F. Gilbert Lamb, founder of the Lamb Weston potato processing plant, is responsible for this remarkable contraption.

Very simply, a potato is launched at high speed (approximately 117 ft. per second) through a grid of sharp steel blades by a high-pressure water hose. The grid can be resized to produce many variations on french fry shape and size.

The first Water Gun Knife was tested by Lamb out in the company parking lot, with the potatoes being fired out of a fire hose.

This might, in fact, be the most fun food service invention in the history of humanity.
