Born out of the seed of The Late Show, a BBC 2 arts program that was always broadcast at 11:15 pm on a variety of weekday night, Late Review was a high brow arts review program hosted each week by Mark Lawson. Regularly freatured guests included Tom Paulin, Alison Pearson, Tony Parsons and Germaine Greer though others occasionally appeared.

Each week they would sit around a table while Lawson (who Will Self once described as the king of the upside down men) chaired a disussion of 4 cultural items.

Things would either be "dissed" or "loved up" with the occasional split panel style disagrement.

Late review is now no longer with us and is replaced by Review which is exactly the same only it's on a 7:00 rather than 11:15.
