The Legion Flight Ring was invented by
Brainiac 5. The
ring gives all members of the
Legion of Super-Heroes the
ability to negate
gravity's effect upon them and propulsion to
allow them to
fly. The ring is mentally activated and has a
number of other applications:
- the ring also contains a "trans-suit," an invisible suit
that surrounds the wearer and allows them to breathe and survive
in the vaccuum of space
- the ring acts as a tracking device for the wearer.
- the ring acts as a radio and signalling device for members
of the Legion.
Some Legion members have specially designed rings. Sun Boy's ring
has been constructed to withstand great heat, while Blok requires
three rings to allow him to fly.
