Often shortened to Letchworth, Letchworth Garden City is the first garden city in the world. It is located in the United Kingdom in Hertfordshire, close to the county border with Bedfordshire, and approximately 35 miles north of London.

The town was established in 1903 to fulfil Ebenezer Howard's dream of a town in which every dwelling had a garden. The town was laid out with separate zones for housing, commercial, and industrial use. The plan for the town was produced by Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin.

Letchworth is home to Britain's first roundabout, the Sollershott Circus roundabout, built in 1910. It's also the place where ICL (International Computers Limited) was started.
