A lompe is a small, circular or oval lefse (a flat potato pancake). Whereas a lefse is usually rather large (at least 30x30 cm), a standard lompe has a diameter of approximately 20 centimetres.

The lompe's main purpose is to act as a wrapping for hot dogs, instead of using a bun.

Follow the instructions in the lefse node if you want to make lompe.

If you buy lompe, remember to keep it in a sealed container to prevent it from drying out. A dry lompe feels a bit like sawdust and tastes awful.

An alternative use for lompe is in a cake like fashion for the coffee table: butter a lompe, sprinkle over some sugar and cinnamon, roll it up and enjoy.
