Ludgate Hill is a road in the City of London. It runs down from St Paul's Cathedral to Ludgate Circus, and takes its name from a gate of the old city, named after the legendary (and not real) King Lud. It runs close to the Old Bailey, and contains City Thameslink station, the church of St Martin within Ludgate, a branch of Starbucks, and several excellent shops and restaurants. At the eastern, upper, end, it turns into St Paul's Churchyard.
