Magic is a fast
programming language developed in Israel and marketed worldwide. It is a very powerful tool for creating
business applications quickly and very easy to learn. It uses a table based development environment and has various automatic program generators and automatic report generators. Magic provides database gateways (not
ODBC) and is the most
platform independent tool that I know of (including
java).
It is not possible for a Visual Basic wizard to program an application faster than a Magic wizard. No way. Can't be done. VB just can't fly with this bird.
Unfortunately, the software has it's drawbacks. Magic Software Enterprises are control freaks when it comes to the licensing of their products. You must buy from them and they do not sell for cheap. Also, the availability of documentation for the software is almost non-existent. You will not find a Magic programming for dummies book, though there is plenty of stuff on the web for references.
