Manderley is the name of the De Winter mansion in the Daphne du Marier novel Rebecca. The famous opening line of the novel is "Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again."

An impressive and imposing house bearing the stamp of the first Mrs. De Winter, the mousy nameless heroine of the novel recalls seeing pictures of it in magazines and newspapers.
