Maple & Brown Sugar Squares (Squares d'Érable et cassonade in French) is a new cereal available here in Canada, made by the Quaker Oats company. They are small squares of oat and wheat flour deliciously doused with brown sugar and natural/artificial flavouring of maple syrup, and after sampling a box I must admit I enjoyed them tremendously.

I think the reason I enjoy the cereal so much is the fact it is not as cloyingly sweet as certain other cereals - yet is sweet enough that I need not add any additional sugar. Also, the cereal does not soak milk too quickly, retaining a satisfying crunch.

This is being marketed as a new cereal, so I'm not sure about the availability of it outside Canada. Perhaps it is specifically made for us Canucks because we produce so much maple syrup we must enjoy it, right? Actually, this is true. I cannot get enough maple and maple flavoured products.

New Maple & Brown Sugar flavour Squares combine the unique flavour of rich, sweet maple syrup with the goodness of Quaker Oats. Your family will enjoy this great tasting cereal at breakfast, or anytime throughout the day!

Back of a now-empty Maple & Brown Sugar Squares cereal box.

This has been my one writeup to gain no attention - not too much in the way of upvotes, not too much in the way of downvotes. Not a complaint, just an observation. This is noding for the ages, however, so I'm satisfied with it.

How is this noding for the ages, you ask? A breakfast cereal? Well, I picture a time, say in the year 2000, when someone will bet 50 dollars (or euros or norams or whatever currency is in vogue at the time) that there was a breakfast cereal called Maple & Brown Sugar Squares - and this will be the proof they need to collect.

So, to you, future bettor, please forward me my cut of the action, say, 50%. I'll take it in gold pressed latinum, if you don't mind.
