Mary GrandPré is an illustrator of children's books and animated movies.

Born in South Dakota during the mid 50s, she moved to Minnesota when she was one year old and started drawing at the age of five.

She went to Minneapolis College of Art and Design where she developed a love for pastels and soft geometry and wanted to become a fine artist, but she became a commercial illustrator. Illustrating children's books allows her to focus on a big project for a long time, using bright colours and draw about magic and fantasy.

Her hobbies include cooking and redecorating houses. She has 2 dogs named Charlie and Chopper, and a cat called Jasper Cumulonimbus Cloud.

She would like to write a book of her own, has lots of ideas, but no book ready yet.
