Maxalt is a non-narcotic prescription drug for the treatment of migraines. It comes in a little tablet-like thing, that you gently push out of plastic onto your tongue, where it dissolves. It tastes nasty and makes your mouth feel funny, but it works well. If the first dose doesn't nail your headache, you can take another one in two hours. If it doesn't go away then, you need to go to the ER.

Maxalt is a brand name; the generic name is Rizatriptan. It's relatively new, so if you haven't had it prescribed for your migraines, talk to your doctor about it.
