A medicaid applicant who can demonstrate they receive social security disability is automatically considered to be disabled for all medicaid purposes without further investigation.

If someone may be unable to work for a year or more, he or she may have us send a special form for an MD to fill out. A medicaid doctor then examines this form and decides if the applicant is disabled for medicaid purposes.

If we consider them disabled, the financial criteria for medicaid eligibility are the same as those for Old Age Assistance.
