Robert Townsend starred-in/directed/wrote/should-be-blame-for this film about a poor black teacher who is given
extraordinary powers when he comes in contact with a
meteor. Although there are some humorous parts (the "Baby Lords", the
Kung Fu fighting
sequence), the movie is all together pretty
cheesy.
Basic plot: The hero (Meteor Man) fights neighborhood drug dealers named the "Golden Lords" (MC hammer look-alikes with gold dyed hair and gold slinkies) for control of the streets-and the youth of the area.
All star cast includes James Earl Jones, Don Cheadle, Robert Guillaume, Wallace Shawn, and Bill Cosby.
