A character from the Hebrew Bible/Old Testament. Michal is the daughter of Saul and the sister of Merab. She loved David and became is wife, though her father was highly jealous of David. When her father sent men to kill David, Michal helped him to escape, placing a pillow of goats hair and some clothes in his bed instead. After David escapes, Saul gave Michal to Palti the son of Laish. Eventually Michal was returned to David. Michal died childless, though it is unclear whether this is because she was barren or because she was set aside.
