A catch-all term referring to any miniaturized document archival method. In practice, when you hear someone say "Microform", they actually mean "either Microfiche or Microfilm". You often hear it referred to as if it is a storage medium itself, e.g. "They have it on microform".

Mi"cro*form (?), n. [Micro- + form, n.] Biol.

A microscopic form of life; an animal or vegetable organism microscopic size.
