An all-important character in the history of Apple Computer, who funded the launch of the Apple II computer with US$92,000.00. Yes, believe it or not, sources indicate that the money was Markkula's and not Forrest Gump's. This happened on January 3rd, 1977 when the company was formalized as Apple Computer Inc.

Thus in certain readings, Markkula is regarded as a founder of Apple Computer, but he had nothing to do with the prior Apple I, the work of Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.

Since then, he is behind most important decisions taken by Apple, which precedence he took in March 1981. Has worked on a number of other companies and projects.
