Mr. Black is one of the main characters in
Douglas TenNapel's
Gear, published by
Fireman Press. (purveyers of
Scud : The Disposable Assassin, among other things) Mr. Black is one of the team of
Newton Cat professionals sent to steal a
guardian (read large kickass robot) from the
South Plate Bugs.
The basic plot of Gear is that all the opposing factions - the Dogtown Dogs, the North Plate Cats, the South Plate Bugs, and the Newton Cats are all at war and after a secret weapon, codenamed Gear. Of course, there are guardians that each faction has, which result from mutating one of their own kind through a very dark secret operation. (probably involving Chemical X ;-) )
Overall, a very cool short comic series, 6 issues long.
