1982 comedy directed by Richard Benjamin. The movie starred Peter O'Toole, Mark Linn-Baker, Jessica Harper, Joseph Bologna, Basil Hoffman, Lainie Kazan, and Bill Macy.

The movie follows one week in the life of a young comedy writer (Linn-Baker) on a live comedy program in the 1950's. This particular week, the guest star is a Errol Flynn-like movie star, played by O'Toole. The young writer is put in charge of keeping up with the wayward star and keeping him sober.

The show in question is loosely based upon Your Show of Shows, a hit television series of the 1950's starring Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca. The real show was the launching pad for many comedy greats like Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Woody Allen, and Neil Simon. Joseph Bologna's character King Kaiser is a pure knock-off of Sid Caesar, whose comic genius was matched with a violent temper.

A delightful movie and well worth the time and effort to watch. O'Toole steals the movie with his portrayal of the drunken movie star.

Favorite Line: "I'm not an actor. I'm a movie star."
