Nematoda or roundworms is a phylum of the Kingdom Animalia. They are characterized with bilateral symmetry with separate openings for the mouth and anus (2). One important feature of Nematodes is that they have a pseudocoelem body cavity. This means that their body cavity is not lined with the mesoderm.

Nematode bodies are unsegmented and cylindrical in shape with tapered ends. Their body level of complexity comprises of tissues, organs and organ systems.
