Incorporated in 1837, New Hope is a borough of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, located alongside the Delaware River (and thus the New Jersey border), approximately 40 miles north of Philadelphia.

Very much a tourist town, New Hope boasts a great many stores, restaurants, art galleries, museums, and sites of historical interest, such as the Delaware Canal and the New Hope & Ivyland Railroad.

Historically, New Hope was the home of the "New Hope School" of painters, also known as the "Pennsylvania Impressionists". The town still boasts a sizeable artistic presence, as well as a very visible, thriving gay community.
