Japanese for "
Japantown" (actually, Japan street(s)). Usually this refers to the area in
San Francisco, although there is also a similar area in
San Jose. It is in the
Western Addition region of
the City, with cross streets Geary and Fillmore. The heart is the
Japan Center, a mall-ish thing with a
Kinokuniya and other great stores and restaurants. You may find

SF's Nihonmachi hosts the
Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival and the
Nihonmachi Street Fair.
