A city of the ancient world that served as the capital of the Assyrian Empire. It prospered and fared rather well when Assyria experienced a boom of power in the seventh century B.C.E., but it was destroyed by the Babylonians in 612 B.C.E.

It figures into several stories from the Bible, among the most famed being that of Jonah and the one about The Destruction of Sennacherib.

Also, the fifth song from David Byrne's album, The Forest. This is an interetsing song, composed for percussion (snare drum, bass drum, timpani, and tom-toms) and a chorus singing together in gibberish. It's in a constant struggle between 7/8 and 7/4, and has a very strange way of building, thrusting toward the end in a very linear fashion.
