The Nobel Prize for Economics is not awarded by the Nobel Foundation but by the Bank of Sweden. Its correct name is "Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel". There was much controversy around this price, so after the founding this price, the Nobel Foundation changed its rules so that another prize can never be added in this way.
