under the soft glow of a streetlight, there was
a pool of light shining on newly fallen leaves.
Above the pool, a tree
equally divided into empty limbs and
stubborn yellow leaves.
Above the tree,
a clear night sky including uncountable stars and
a sliver of moonlight.
