OSWD is an acronym that symbolizes not only "
Open Source Web Design" but also a sometimes very skilled
community of
HTML-only
webpage designers. The designs are mostly very
blog-like, but there are some real
works of art in the archives.
The goal of the project at first was to limit designs to basic HTML 4.0. They're slowly letting in more CSS, going at a slow enough pace to allow for the mainstream web browsers like Netscape (aka Nutscrape) and Internet Explorer (aka Internut Exploiter) to catch up to Mozilla's comprehensive CSS support.
OSWD is still a growing project, so expect more from this node in the next few months...
