Where I was
The place we went -what zip code?
How long?
Six months, seven?

Who I was
The person I became- her version of me?
A caricature that no one recognized
Certainly not myself

(Made over as a prelude to being made a fool)

I was out there
In all the different ways
out there
can be

(Not here, not normal, not even close)

So now, after the fact
Admitting I was mistaken
Elicits mostly laughter

(Being the last to know always means: seeing what everyone else already saw.)

If you wrote me off, I'd understand it
'Cause I've been on Some other planet
So come pick me up
I've landed-
Landed- Ben Folds
